What Is The Studio Invitation?
The Studio Invitation is your opportunity to sit for a cinematic, black-and-white portrait at John Christopher Studio, at no cost to you.
This is not a headshot.
This is not a casual photo session.
This is a focused, intentional portrait sitting using dramatic, classical lighting techniques made famous by Studio Harcourt and the golden era of Hollywood photography.
There is no obligation to purchase. You are invited simply to sit.
After the session, you’ll be shown a small, curated selection of portraits. If one speaks to you, you may choose to purchase it as a signed print. If not, there’s no charge.
Why Is It Free?
At John Christopher Studio, we believe that timeless portraits require trust, and that trust begins with experience.
Many people have never seen themselves photographed this way.
They don’t yet know the value of a portrait until they feel it.
The Studio Invitation was created to make space for that discovery.
It also allows us to continue developing a unique portrait archive of artists, creatives, and individuals in Denver and beyond, each sitting, becoming part of a growing visual legacy.
The Portrait Experience
Every sitter receives the same level of craftsmanship and care:
Pre-session consultation to align on wardrobe and intention
Cinematic studio lighting, customized for each individual
Deliberate, unhurried 60–90 minute sitting
Private proofing gallery with 3–6 final portraits to review
Optional print purchase after the session
Portraits are printed on museum-quality paper, matted, and embossed with the John Christopher Studio mark - an heirloom you can hold.
Portrait Pricing
There is no fee to sit. You pay only for the portraits you choose to own.
Multi-print bundles and large-format installations available upon request.
